Oliver likes languages, history, art, bande dessinée, comics and political / editorial cartoons.
He received a BA degree in French and Human Development from Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland and an MA degree in French from University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. He completed a PhD in the Department of French and the School of History at University College Cork in 2023.
He is currently a member of the executive committee of the Newspaper and Periodical History Forum of Ireland (NPHFI) http://newspapersperiodicals.org/
Oliver has taught in the Department of French at UCC and has presented research papers at academic conferences in universities in Ireland, UK, France and Belgium.
